European power prices ease as gas markets weaken

As expected, imports have increased to meet demand as indigenous production decreased. The UK began importing LNG for commercial use in 2005. Imports of LNG were minimal until 2008 when they increased rapidly and peaked in 2011 since then LNG imports have fluctuated.
