ACER will host an online webinar on EU gas decarbonisation, presenting the main findings of its 2026 Monitoring Report on the decarbonisation of the EU’s natural gas market. The event will examine how Europe can reduce fossil gas dependence while maintaining security of supply, affordability and industrial competitiveness.
The webinar will discuss the evolving role of gas in Europe’s energy transition, including renewable gases, low-carbon hydrogen, biomethane, carbon capture and methane emissions abatement. It will also explore key policy dilemmas around electricity price formation, industrial energy use and the EU’s 2050 climate neutrality target.
