(April 11) The TTF price soared by almost 10% today to near €30/MWh – its highest level since late January. Geopolitics and unplanned outages are once again driving up volatility:
(1) the risk of an escalation between Israel and Iran sent Brent prices above $90/barrel, while it is also providing upward pressure on gas prices;
(2) Russia again targeted two Ukrainian gas storage facilities;
(3) Freeport Train 3 tripped, with feedgas nominations to the plant down by 80%.
