European power prices ease as gas markets weaken

EU gas consumption in Q2 fell 16% (-13.9 bcm) year-on-year, amounting to 71 bcm. With Russian import volumes plummeting by 45%, gas traded volumes on the European hubs underwent a measurable fall of 17% (2 704 TWh) in Q2 while gas demand in electricity generation also fell, by 7% (-8.1 TWh)..
