Prices in the wholesale markets for electricity reflect the cost of gas-fired generation and the previous year saw concerns about the lasting impact of the conflict in Ukraine and power scarcity on the winter quarters of Q4 2022 and Q1 2023 as a consequence of reduced gas supply and higher prices.
