Russian gas to China starts on October 25

Gazprom announced that starting from Oct.25, gas from the Kovykta field will be supplied to the Kovykta–Chayanda gas pipeline for its commissioning.

The pipeline is the first leg of the Russia-China Power of Siberia 1, and Kovykta gas will boost pipeline volumes up to the designed 38bcm/y

Once the supply will start, the pipeline will connect the largest reserve in Eastern Siberia (Kovyktinskoye – 1.8 trillion cubic meters of gas and 65.7 million tons of condensate) to the largest gas market in Asia.

The Kovykta field will be put into operation in H2-22.
