European gas storage ends heating season with record high inventory levels

11th -23rd May – High pressure will built along the Atlantic, favouring a northerly flow over Europe, more likely next week. Therefore, we expect a drop in temperatures almost everywhere.

Below temperatures will be more remarkable over the most westerly areas, like the UK, France and Iberia.

weather forecast

24th May-10th June – At some point within the period we expect the atmospheric configuration to favour an African air intrusion over South West Europe.

An Atlantic trough may impulse southerly winds advecting hot north African air over Iberia and South France, that may extend further north affecting the rest of France, south England, Germany, Italy and other areas in Central Europe.

Possible first heat wave during this period. The most intense anomalies should be found in Iberia, France, South England and South Germany.
